The kitchen has separate cook, bake, beverage, and bar areas, and a wine room—with a barrel vaulted ceiling. Walnut cabinetry, real Kentucky limestone, and beams create a modern rustic feel. Notice the wide Andersen window over the counter. The bar features outside corner cabinets. Philip customized the dining room’s swing doors with beveled side lights to mirror the Andersen Eagle Frenchwood gliding patio doors. Philip is known for creatively realizing clients’ wishes; here, he hung lights from the beam; welded a customized steel support for the island’s free-floating granite overhang; and reused the owners’ Sub Zero refrigerator. Andersen Eagle Frenchwood gliding patio doors provide a 7-foot clear opening to the new covered porch.
2014 - Townhome
This was part of the 2014 Townhome Remodel. Pictures of the whole project can be accessed from the Portfolio page.
When the owner hired Conrad Construction Company to brighten her recently purchased townhome, most of the elements were original from 1986. We removed the wall between the kitchen and dining room. The owner loves a white kitchen. Polished chrome hardware shines against white cabinets and granite countertops contrasted by the dark island. Hidden steel reinforcements support the large single piece of granite for the eat-in island.

The Kitchen features commercial grade appliances, double-depth rock granite countertops, wrought iron glass-free lighting fixtures, and reclaimed barn lumber for the flooring. We added rustic beams to the vaulted ceiling in the eat-in area.We replaced the door from the breakfast area that opens to the patio and pool area with an Andersen Eagle series patio door.
